I’d been wanting to record some songs for a while and the pandemic opened up a space for me to do that. My home studio set-up moved from my office to my bedroom during the lock-down and I feel like that quiet space really influenced what I wrote, like I was in a little bubble and what came out was pretty intimate, personal stuff. I went into full-on trust mode and let the songs write themselves.

In a way, the WARM THING EP is about gathering the parts that make me who I am. It feels like a beginning – demystifying my origin story or the stories I tell myself, sharing how I perceive myself with all my idiosyncrasies. I feel like every time we go into that kind of vulnerability as artists, we signal to other people that they can too. We normalize it and make it accessible.

sans toi, Sacha, WARM THING n’existerait simplement pas. des premiers jets des chansons jusqu’au mix final du EP, tu m’as encouragé et appuyé. tu m’as ramassé à la petite cuillère un couple de fois aussi haha, et aidé à troubleshooter les moments pas évidents, tant techniques qu 'artistiques. tu es brillant, profondément bon et si généreux de toi-même… les mots ne suffisent pas pour exprimer ma reconnaissance envers toi… et je t’ai déjà tout dit de toute façon x
