This song came out almost fully formed after a really intense time in my life. It's about leaving behind dark/safe spaces and the power/vulnerability of realizing that you’re out there alone, that we all are really. No one is coming with you, but no one is coming for you either. It's a strong feeling. And freeing too. I ended up recording the basic piano track on the same piano I wrote the song on. I can still hear that very basic place it started from when I listen back to it all dressed up.
